The blade is made of 1060 carbon steel and laminated in Maru structure. The kissaki shape of the blade tip is chu-kissaki. Bo-hi (blood groove) is added to each side of the blade which can not only lighten the blade but (also you do not want the best performance. (If you do not want the bo-hi, just let us know and we can customize for you).
The blade is fully handmade in the most traditional Japanese craftsmanship way. It is fully hand-forged, hand-polished and hand-sharpened by our experienced smith. The blade is in full-tang which greatly enhances the strength of the whole sword .
The blade is good enough to cut a thick tree and steep enough to slice paper.
