This is a sword and we believe in quality over quantity. swords are hand-made, fully functional, and "battle ready" katanas. They are best suited for practice in all sword arts, completion cutting, and collecting. The Japanese Katanas, hand-made by lyuesword, are of the highest quality. lyuesword has been produced Japanese swords for professional collectors and practitioners of Iaido, Iaijutsu, and Kenjutsu for over 10 years!

The blade is fully hand-made in the most traditional Japanese craftsmanship way. It is fully hand forged, hand-polished and hand-sharpened by our experienced smith.
The blade was made of  t10 high carbon steel, and it has been laminated in a Maru structure with a clay temper line.
A special clay is applied to the blade by hand, using a thin covering near the edge and a thicker layer over the rest of the blade. This results in a relatively quicker cooling of the edge during quenching, producing a harder edge and softer back. The beautiful real hamon is also a result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering).

The tsuka (handle) is covered in red same (ray skin) and the Tsuka Ito (handle wrap) is best japanese real black silk10mm wide. The tsuba is made from high quality brass. The koiguchi is made from high quality brass. The habaki and the seppa are also made from copper.

The Saya(sheath) is made from hardwood, and capped at both ends with pieces made from water buffalo horn. The black sageo(sheath cord) is patterned to complement the saya.Buffalo horn is an extremely dense and hard material. It is used in high quality saya at the mouth and end for protection against wear and knocks.

The sword is a fully functional Japanese katana and not a replica, it is considered a weapon and it is extremely sharp. This sword can easily sever a 7" thick bamboo with single stroke. The katana can be completely disassembled for full Maintenance.
